How to Share Your Faith: Get Happy

When church people don’t find peace and joy in God, they will look other places to find it.

I’m putting together a new series for our youth ministry (which is amazing [we’ve got the best students ever here in Real Life SM]) on how to share your faith. I'm sitting here at my desk, deep in thought about the best way to approach this and the thought came to me:

“If our lives aren’t incredible because of our relationship with God- why in the world would someone else be interested in what we have to say?"

It would be like an overweight and out of shape person trying to sell you Advocare health and fitness products. Uhhh…. so I get to look like you if I take all this stuff…?

My buddy Sam Krager once said, “Joy is the result of a life that lives in freedom.” We get to be as free, fulfilled, and happy as we want to be because of Jesus- regardless of our external circumstances.

So ultimately, the most important idea when thinking about how to share your faith is this: Make sure this thing is working for you first. Make sure there is life and fulfillment in your walk. Check to see if the life you’re living is even worth inviting someone else into.

I can promise you this: Happiness is an inside job. If you’re not happy- get free. It’s hard to be happy when our souls aren’t free.

Also flee from dead, lifeless religion. Religious people aren’t ever happy.

Jesus preached: “Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand."

“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Romans 14:17
