Listen Up: God Wants To Speak To You!
Have you ever felt like you’re straining to hear God’s voice but just can’t quite make it out? Trust me, I’ve been there too. But the truth is, God is always speaking to us, even in the everyday moments. John 10:27 says, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." God often speaks through the gentle whispers of the Holy Spirit, His Word, through others, and even in the stillness in our hearts. The key is to tune our hearts to hear Him amidst all the noise.
When I first started my walk with Jesus, I thought hearing from God was for pastors or the super-spiritual. But I learned that God wants to speak to all of us, not just in the big moments but in the small, everyday ones too. Whether it’s a persistent thought, a sense of peace when making a decision, or a scripture that speaks to us, these are all ways God guides us if we are willing to listen for it.
I want to encourage you to be intentional about seeking God's voice daily. Set aside time to be still and listen. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t hear Him right away—sometimes, God speaks in a whisper for the purpose of drawing us closer to His presence. Keep pressing in and remember, God is always speaking.
“Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.” –1 Kings 19:11-12
