Get Bold: Pray Like You Mean It
Have you ever hesitated to pray for something big, thinking it might be too much to ask of God? It’s easy to allow fear or doubt to creep in, convincing ourselves that we shouldn't bother God with our bold prayers. We think that maybe we’re asking for too much or that God has other, more important things to get to. But the truth is, God invites us to come to Him with audacious faith! Jesus encourages us to pray with boldness, not holding back, but asking in faith, believing that He hears us and wants to move on our behalf.
Fear often keeps us from praying boldly. We can fear being disappointed, or that our prayers might not align with God's will. But it’s crucial to remember that God is not intimidated by our big requests. He is a big God who loves to do big things! There are countless stories in the Bible where people dared to ask God for the impossible—like Joshua asking the sun to stand still or Hezekiah praying for his life to be extended. Not once did God rebuke them for being too bold. Instead, He honored their faith. Our bold prayers show God that we trust Him and believe in His power to do the miraculous.
Let go of any fear surrounding bold prayers. Approach God with the confidence that He is able and willing to do exceedingly more than we can ask or imagine. Even if we get it wrong or ask for something outside His will, God will gently guide us back. He wants us to pray with faith, believing that He is a good Father who loves to bless His children.
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” –Luke 11:9
