Ever find yourself in a season where you feel like you're traveling in the exact opposite direction of where you want to end up? Especially as a young gun burning with passion, this can seem like death to your future. Jesus experienced something similar that could encourage you.

In John 7, Jesus' brothers were harassing him as he spent a portion of his ministry in the backwoods of Israel rather than in the religious mecca- Judea. They told him to leave Galilee and go to Judea; to go big time with his ministry. They told him to upgrade from the small, humble venues of his hometown and make his big appearance to the world. They gave advice which makes sense in the entertainment industry saying, "No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world." Go try out for Israel's Got Talent or something!

Jesus knew his role was to be the savior of the world. He wasn't once confused about his purpose. Here we see the light of the world, the bread of life, and King of glory, being faithful in what would seem like an unimportant season.

His answer to his brothers sums it all up: "My time is not yet here".

Jesus knew what he was called to do. He knew he had world changing experiences ahead of him. Be he also knew that the Father would show him when and where he was to do it.

Rest in knowing that God has got your life, calling, and purpose all figured out. Trust him with your tomorrow by treasuring your today!
